About me.

I spent 15 years behind a mic before I ever read a script.

I’m Aja, pronounced like Asia, named after the Steely Dan album (you may have seen the vinyl floating around a basement somewhere).

Before voice over, I was the singer and guitarist of my band, The Bruises. I loved that moment when we hit the first note and the room shifted, when people stopped talking and started listening. That’s where I learned how to connect, tell a story, and make people feel something.

In 2016, I brought that into voice-over and never looked back. My first project was for a San Francisco startup that went on to win the grand prize at the Salesforce Million Dollar Hackathon… not a bad first gig.

Since then, I’ve voiced commercials, e-learning, explainers, and brand campaigns for clients around the world.

I’m based in the Chicago area and work with clients everywhere.
My approach is simple: authenticity first, because the best reads don’t sound like reads at all.
